Over 1000 residents of Egbema suffering from different health challenges including women, expectant mothers, children, youths and the elderly, benefitted from One Day Free medical outreach at Community Primary School Okwuzi in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, as organised by Office of the Councilor ONELGA Ward 11 Rivers State, Rt Hon Kenneth Nwadiaru (Deputy Leader ONELGA Legislative Assembly).
The outreach is aimed at improving the health of the people, as well as foster better relationships between the Councilor and his people.
Addressing journalists, the Deputy Leader, Hon Kenneth Nwadiaru, said the gesture was one of the humanitarian services of his administration, adding that the medical service was at the primary level of healthcare.
“We are to reach out to about a thousand beneficiaries. The second phase of the medical outreach programme continues in no distant time and at different location”, he said.
He appreciated the Council Chairman Hon Vincent Job for his support concerning security in the LGA.
The Special Adviser (SA) on Women Affairs to ONELGA Council Chairman Hon. Chioma Emeji who also benefited of the free medical outreach, commended the effort of the Ward 11 Councilor for contributing his quota to meet the social welfare of his people especially to the women.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with WAVE FM expressed happiness at the opportunity to receive such standard healthcare services at no cost to them and profusely thanked the organisers, donors as well as medical and health personnel/volunteers for the exercise.-
